No matter what team you’re rooting for this Super Bowl Sunday, there’s one thing we can all agree on: a superlative snack spread will always be the real MVP of the game. After all, what better excuse to gather together on a cold winter evening than a celebration of all things dippable, snackable, and finger food-afiable?
Be it nachos, pigs in a blanket, seven layer dip, pulled pork sliders, charcuterie boards, or any manner of dish meant to be lingered over by your gridiron guests, the Super Bowl is the day to pull out all the stops for an enviable array of edibles.
And when it comes to enviable edibles, a little cannabis-infused food and beverage is a surefire way to supercharge your lineup of all-star snacks.
Whether you’re making your own canna-oil to whip up a batch of lazy man’s cannabis hummus (aka: add canna-oil to your favorite store-bought hummus) or bringing pre-infused food and drink from your favorite dispensary, it’s never been easier to add marajuana-infused fixins to your game day spread.
Looking for an easy place to start?
Simply swap out the sweet berries and jams on your charcuterie board with some delicious ice-water hash infused gummies in peachy-mango from Hashables, wildberry gummies from Coast Cannabis, or single-serving fruit chews from Betty’s Eddies.
Or pair your favorite cheeses with Bhang’s dosed vegan dark chocolate or the brownies and snickerdoodle bites from Bubby’s Baked Goods. If you’re looking for something refreshing to add to your drink table, Levia’s THC seltzers offer a bubbly pick-me-up.
Or, for an instant classic your guests are sure to love, try your hand at making your own homemade cannabis-infused guacamole with the easy recipe below.
Cannabis-Infused Guacamole
1. Peel and dice 5 avocados. Save the pits and set aside for later.
2. Add the diced avocado to a large bowl; season with salt and add your desired amount of cannabis-infused cooking oil* to coat. Cover the bowl and place in the refrigerator overnight.
*If you don’t have cannabis-infused cooking oil, you can also use whole-plant infused tinctures for dosing food. Swing by Canna Provisions to pick up a THC tincture like Howl’s Anytime, a CBD tincture from Sawyer Farm CBD, or an RSO oil like the Purist Drops or Sunrise Punch Sativa drops by Treeworks.
3. Take the dosed avocado out of the fridge. Add half of a diced red onion, a quarter of a diced sweet onion, the juice of two limes, a diced tomato, and as much minced garlic, chopped cilantro, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper as you’d like. Smash to combine to your desired consistency.
4. Add the avocado pits to the guacamole to help prevent browning. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
