Residents and long time visitors to The Hudson Valley have already discovered a plethora of options to experience gastronomic delights. The fresh air and scenery found in our backyard are breathtaking backdrops to the outstanding selection of restaurants and bars, which have drawn many a New Yorker in the past few years.
But, recently, the nationally known culinary publication Food & Wine put out an article pinpointing the Hudson Valley’s Best Wine Spots. This article further cements what we’ve known for a while—The Hudson Valley is a go-to destination to find sophistication and taste if you’re a connoisseur of anything, including wine.
In the article, Food & Wine writer Christina Pickard says that the Hudson Valley is a “roughly 130-mile stretch of towns and small cities running north-south along both sides of the Hudson River,” describing it as the oldest wine producing region in America. She continues, saying that “ when it comes to the restaurant, bar, and retail scene, it’s generally been better to BYO if you wanted a decent drop upstate—until now.”
Pickard hand selected ten favorite locations: Hudson Wine Merchants, Brunette Wine Bar, Artisan Wine Shop, Gaskins, Ester Wine & Spirits, Copake Wine Works, Blue Hill at Stone Barns, The Reed Street Bottle Shop, Fish and Game, and Kingston Wine Co. all landed in the article’s spotlight.
