Tommy Malone— the founder, lead singer, and guitarist of the Subdudes— brings his Americana-soaked-solo act to the Bearsville Theater on Friday, November 21.
After parting ways from the New Orleans jazz and blues band, The Subdudes in 1996, Malone continued his music career by releasing two solo albums in back-to-back years with M.C. Records. “Natural Born Days” was unveiled in 2013, delivering an all-American classic-rock sound that long-time fans remember for. Continuing the legacy “Poor Boy” was released in March 2014, and spent nearly three months on the Americana Radio Charts and is currently the number seven album on The Roots Music Report.

Since the release Malone has appeared on the syndicated radio program Mountain State, the TV show “On Canvas”, and “Music Cit Roots” in Nashville in early November.
Staying grounded to his roots, for the past 40 years Malone continued to be a fixture of the Louisiana music scene. His recent work, some have argued, provided depth that was lacking in the past. It feels as though we've kept the laid-back guitar tunes, and merged them with reflection of grown-up situations, busted relations, and theme's of leaving youth in the past. For some, “Poor Boy” soothes and fires the soul unlike any other record Malone has put out before.
Bringing the New Orleans hometown spirit to the Hudson Valley, Malone's performance will begin at 9p,, doors open at 8pm. Tickets are $20 advance, and $25 at the door.
