The rail trail party returns for its 18th annual winter family festival. This one-day event hauls in over 20 regional restaurants that will compete to be named the "Best of Fest" as they dish out hearty batches of chili for the People's Choice Award in both meat and vegetarian categories. The celebration also offers children entertainment under the Lowe's Project Tent, which provides a heated space for kids to enjoy craft projects and activities. Hay wagon rides, chestnut and marshmallow roasting, and a bonfire warm up the festivities on Saturday, January 10, at the Hudson Valley Rail Trail Depot in Highland. General Admission is $2 and children under six get in free.
