Take yourself back to a simpler time. The Norman Rockwell Museum presents this Hanna-Barbera themed event, featuring screenings and talks on the animation duoโ€™s significance in American cable culture.

The exhibit features original animation art, sketches, model sheets, photos, toys, commercial products and other archival material from the studio. An immersive and interactive sound-effect installation will be onsite.

Listen to the futuristic sounds from โ€œThe Jetsons,โ€(pasted for your listening pleasure below) or take it back to the stone ages with sounds from โ€œThe Flintstones.โ€

In keeping with the exhibitโ€™s title, there will be a Saturday morning cartoon screening from 10am to 12pm, showing Hanna-Barbera classics like โ€œTom and Jerry,โ€ โ€œThe Yogi Bear Show,โ€ โ€œJonny Quest,โ€ โ€œScooby-Doo, Where Are You!,โ€ and โ€œChallenge of the Superfriends.โ€ A continental breakfast will be includedโ€”pajamas are optional. The cartoon screenings are free with Museum admission, or $5 for the cartoon programs only.

Later in the day from 2 to 3pm, guests can explore Hanna-Barberaโ€™s โ€œGolden Ageโ€ from 1958 to 1969 through a museum-led discussion. Curator Jesse Kowalski will discuss the studioโ€™s development of the Saturday morning cartoon culture. The talk is included with Museum admission, $10 for the program only.

Admission to the museum is $18, $17 for seniors, $10 for students, $6 for children, free for members, children under 5, and military personnel. Saturday, November 19th.
