Love stories have long been told through sonnets, romance novels, and songs. But Columbia County-based Supreme Soft Serveโs custom flavors and toppings allow the swirl to tell the tale. An ice cream truck adds a sweet touch to a wedding.
โItโs not often that couples like the same soft serve flavors. Usually, one prefers something vanilla-based, and the other chooses chocolate, a fruit-based flavor, or an adventurous one like coconut curry or salty malty caramel. We work with couples to give them the best of both flavor worlds, while creating a blissful pairingโthe twist,โ says Megan Kitsock, owner of Supreme Soft Serve.
Kitsockโs 18 years of ice cream experience pack an expert flavor punch. She focuses on using locally sourced and high-quality ingredients without any artificial dyes. Berries, fruits, or veggies are frequent ingredients in her toppings and come from farms in the Hudson Valley or the Berkshires.
Committed to sourcing seasonally, Kitsockโs bold, red, tart, and sweet raspberry-rhubarb sauce welcomes spring. Handmade topping offerings include homemade espresso brownie bits, honeycomb candy, snack crackโa blend of potato chips, peanuts, natural rainbow sprinkles, chocolate chip cookie dough, and sea salt enrobed in dark chocolate and smashed into bite-sized pieces, among countless others.
Unlike traditional brightly-colored ice cream trucks that play earworm songs down the street, Kitsock wanted the truck to be chic. It was designed to accent rehearsal dinners, weddings, next-day brunches, corporate events, and adult birthday parties. Just a few years after opening, the ice cream trailer is booking up to two years in advance for specific dates.
โOnce a couple locks in a date, they hop on a call with me to chat about what flavors and toppings they love or are thinking about. We talk about any dietary restrictions or allergies they may have, and then we dive into a fun and casual brainstorming session until we are all excited about their selections,โ says Kitsock. โSome couples come to the call knowing exactly what they want, others let me flex my creativity with flavors like vegan coconut curry swirled with local bourbon brown sugar.โ
Wedding cake is, of course, traditional, but soft serve for a wedding dessert delights couples and guests alike. โIn my time doing weddings, 97 percent of wedding guests get soft serve when I roll up. Couples are making their own traditions and prioritizing what brings them joy.โ
For anyone not getting married but still wanting to taste Supreme Soft Serve, Kitsock has a second truck parked at Cooperโs Daughter Spirits in Claverack starting March 14 for the 2025 season.
โThereโs nothing more romantic after a wedding ceremony than dancing and sharing a twist cone of the flavors youโve created with the love of your life,โ Kitsock says.
