Creative collaborations and professional relationships may start to work themselves out. This isn’t magic. Through the trial and error and misunderstandings of recent weeks, you’ve earned a certain amount of clarity. You must still implement the hard lessons you’ve learned about maintaining momentum through the more boring parts of project management and caretaking. You should also continue to practice everything you learned about direct and explicit communication. Major strides can be made in all of your negotiations if you ask for exactly what you want. It’s not your job to manage the discomfort of others. It’s your job to represent yourself honestly.
