In addition to broadcasting from its Catskill studio, WGXC conducts many offsite broadcasts across the region, like this recent one from the Sweet Hereafter in Hudson.

WGXC is the independent broadcast beacon of Columbia and Greene counties, offering truly diverse community and non-commercial programming at 90.7 FM in the region. To celebrate its 15th anniversary on the airwaves, the radio station will present the WGXC Birthday Extravaganza in Catskill, on February 26.

The village-wide event will kick off at 5pm at Left Bank Ciders with Soup Night with a live broadcast of the “Thursday Afternoon Show” with Selha G and Tommy D and DJ sets by Maria Manhattan of “The Hudson Cafe,” and Hans Michaelalan of “Balance Check” and “The Birthday Show.”

From 7 to 9pm the neighboring Avalon Lounge will host a special broadcast of “Breaking the Algorithm IRL”; a DJ set by Neva Wartell of “Music for the Masses”; and a taping of “Local Waves” featuring a conversation with Wave Farm’s executive director emeritus, Galen Hunter.

At 9pm radio revelers can pop by WGXC’s studio on Main Street Catskill studio for cake courtesy of Stewart’s Shops and a live birthday broadcast of the “Pass the Aux” series (bring your weirdest birthday tunes!) before crossing the street for one of the special nightcaps (including non-alcoholic choices) at Hemlock bistro.
