Overview:

The evening is the culmination of a week-long student residency and premieres new works.

Since its 1990 founding the 153-acre artist sanctuary known as Kaatsbaan Cultural Park has inspired hundreds of new artists and consistently delighted audiences, serving as a staging place and incubator for adventurous new works. On January 9, the center will present an informal showing of new works created during its recently hosted Juilliard Risk Lab Residency.

The evening of premiere performances is the culmination of a week-long residency at Kaatsbaan during which three student projects selected for their innovative and interdisciplinary collaborations were developed at the cutting-edge creative center. The groups of students spent five days developing original performance pieces during which they worked with a team of mentors that included vocal arts faculty member John Matsumoto Giampietro, Arnhold Creative Associate Caili Quan, and Arnhold Creative Associate at Large, chamber music faculty member Nadia Sirota, and several Kaatsbaan student creators.
