The summer concert festival season is winding down, but there are a few outdoor live music events to catch before things wrap up for the year. One of them is the Highlands Concert Series, which will take place October 10-11 at the titular equestrian facility in Amenia and features performances by Third Eye Blind, Dinosaur Jr., Brothers Osbourne, and LeAnn Rimes.
Formed in San Francisco in 1993, Third Eye Blind are regulars on radio thanks to their unavoidable 1997 Top 10 hit “Semi-Charmed Life.” The group’s other Top 10 singles include the same year’s “Juniper” and “How It’s Going to Be”; 2000’s “Never Let You Go” reached the Top 20. Opening for the pop hitmakers are indie icons Dinosaur Jr., whose music defined the just-pre-grunge American underground and has been cited as an influence by such acts as Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, and My Bloody Valentine. Third Eye Blind and Dinosaur Jr. will perform at the Highlands Concert Series on October 10.
Country duo Brothers Osbourne are comprised of sibling singer-songwriters John and TJ Brothers Osbourne and originated in Maryland. The pair struck the Billboard Country Top 5 with “Stay a Little Longer” (2015) and have had further hits with “It Ain’t My Fault” (2017), “Shoot Me Straight” (2018), and “All Night” (2019). LeAnn Rimes, who will share the October 11 bill at the Highlands Horse Show facility, became a country music sensation at age 13 with her 1993 hit “Blue” and has placed more than 40 singles on the international charts since 1996 and sold in excess of 48 million records worldwide.
