This month, the Hudson Valley’s creative spirit takes to the digital stage. “Fall for Art,” the long-running juried art show, sale, and community fundraiser presented by the Jewish Federation of Ulster County—returns for its 29th year as a virtual showcase of the region’s artistic abundance. From 7pm on Saturday, November 8 through 5pm on Friday, November 14, 31 local artists will open their online studios to collectors and browsers alike.

This isn’t your standard e-commerce scroll. The digital gallery brims with hand-thrown ceramics, shimmering glasswork, intricate textiles, mixed media compositions, fine art photography, and paintings that carry the scent of turpentine and mountain air. Artists include Kingston’s Glenn Grubard, known for his layered, mandala-like works; Woodstock oil painter Mary Anna Goetz, who captures light as a living thing; and textile artist Lauren Horowitz, whose fabric pieces seem to breathe the landscape itself.

Every artist offers complimentary shipping—a small but thoughtful gesture in a world where connection is increasingly virtual. And every purchase carries twice the weight: supporting both the artist and the nonprofits that Fall for Art funds each year. Proceeds benefit essential community organizations including Angel Food East, People’s Place, the Hudson Valley LGBTQ+ Community Center, Jewish Family Services, and MyKingstonKids.org.

The show embodies the Jewish Federation’s guiding principle of tikkun olam—repairing the world through acts of kindness. In practice, that means an elegant digital storefront where art and altruism share the same cart. It’s the Hudson Valley at its best: creative, generous, and interconnected.
