Since opening in 2015, Kitchen Sink Food & Drink has provided Beacon with food from the heart. But now, the menu at Kitchen Sink is even more personal to chef Brian Arnoff.

โ€œIโ€™ve always wanted to do a rotating menu dining experience, but the timing never felt right,โ€ he says. โ€œI wanted to cook foods Iโ€™m passionate about every single day.โ€

In March of 2020 when lockdown orders swept the country, Kitchen Sink closed โ€œtemporarilyโ€ along with so many other places. โ€œIโ€™ll never forget talking to the staff and telling them weโ€™ll only be closed for a few days or a week until this thing passes,โ€ says Arnoff. โ€œWho knew?โ€

While COVID didnโ€™t pass, Kitchen Sink stayed alive in a different capacity, with takeout pop-ups starting in April 2020, and outdoor dining from July through October. Kitchen Sink closed completely in November 2020, and during a series of renovations, Arnoff continued to chew on his rotating menu idea. He felt the time was right for an intimate dining experience.

In January of 2022, Kitchen Sink reopened as an exclusive supper club. In this iteration of the restaurant, Arnoff is seeking to recreate the experience of going to a friendโ€™s house for dinner. The space inside the restaurant is wide open, allowing diners to interact with the cooks and watch as their food is prepared, as you might in someoneโ€™s home kitchen.

Guests can make a reservation and join in the communal dining experience, in which theyโ€™re seated with other parties, not just the people they came with. Arnoff has seen some genuine connections between diners with this model. โ€œWeโ€™ve seen people who live in Beacon who have never met develop this local friendship,โ€ says Arnoff. โ€œOr people from out of town meet here and go out for drinks after dinner.โ€

The menu switches every four to six weeks, according to whatโ€™s in season and what regional cuisines the chefs are interested in recreating. Thereโ€™s no substitutions or dozens of meals to choose from. Itโ€™s simply what Arnoff and his co chefs have chosen to serve you. Meals are five to six courses, with an optional beverage pairing.

The current menu evokes spring with lamb, greens like broccoli rabe and pea agnolotti, and carrot cake for dessert. The supper club is by reservation only, so book your place in advance. Meals take place almost every Saturday and Friday evening. Kitchen Sink also hosts pop-ups that range from Filipino cuisine to fried chicken to lasagna. While pop-ups are takeout only, be on the lookout for an expanded outdoor space this summer.
