Firefly Film Screens in Lake Katrine

Hudson Valley streaming app Hudsy will screen the new original documentary film Firefly: The Tay Fisher Story at M. Clifford Miller Middle School in Lake Katrine on September 9.

The feature-length documentary follows basketball player Tay Fisher across his career, from the high school-level Kingston Tigers to the collegiate Siena Saints and all the way to the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters. Fisher’s basketball and life journey is one of determination, inspiration, teamwork, and downright talent that sees him develop into one of the top shooters in New York State. During his 10 years on the Harlem Globetrotters, as “Firefly,” he enthralled fans around the world with his “Curly” Neal-inspired dribbling style and his infectiously positive attitude. Today, Fisher shares the challenges and guidance of his never-give-up story on and off the court by mentoring kids and hosting basketball programs in his community.

Produced directed, filmed, and edited by Christopher Nostrand of Nostrand Productions, Firefly is the winner of the HUDSY 2021 Community Content Fund Program. The first 50 guests at the screening will meet Tay Fisher and get an autographed poster (one per family). There will also be a 50/50 raffle, and food from Seasoned Delicious Foods will be available for purchase.

Firefly: The Tay Fisher Story will be shown at M. Clifford Miller Middle School in Lake Katrine on September 9 at 6pm. Tickets are $15 for Adults and $10 for kids 12 and under.
