Former local resident Bob Dylan’s connections to the Woodstock area are famous throughout the world, and those connections begin with his ties to his late manager, Albert Grossman. Grossman, of course, built the magnificent Bearsville Theater and much of its surrounding compound. Thus, the Bearsville Theater is the perfect place for the annual Bob Dylan Birthday Celebration concert benefiting Family of Woodstock, which will return to venue on May 29.
Hosted by folk legend Happy Traum and featuring a house led by guitarist and musical director Connor Kennedy that includes keyboardist Will Bryant and drummer Lee Falco of the Restless Age and bassist Ryan Berg, the evening will also feature special guests Cindy Cashdollar, Jim Weider, Arlen Roth, Eugene Ruffolo, Chris Maxwell, Eric Redd, Rachel Yamagata, Lara Hope, and more artists to be announced. Proceeds from the event will go to local social assistance organization Family of Woodstock.
Family of Woodstock’s Bob Dylan Birthday Celebration will take place at the Bearsville Theater in Bearsville on May 29 at 8pm. Tickets are $25-$95 in advance and $30-$100 on the day of the show.
