This 4th of July is the 250th anniversary of the USA, giving this year’s celebrations historic significance. The Hudson Valley has several scenic locations where families can watch fireworks light up the sky, usually with food, drinks, and live music as accompaniment. Tourists and locals alike can enjoy the spectacle across the region.
July 2
1500 NY-9D, Wappingers Falls
The Hudson Valley Renegades celebrate America’s 250th birthday in Heritage Financial Park with BBQ and fireworks for three days, July 2 to July 4, after the scheduled baseball games. The games start at 7:05pm on all three days.
Powder Mill Road, Newburgh
Taking place at Cronomer & Algonquin Parks, this family-friendly event includes food trucks, local vendors, and a live performance by Hudson Blue. Fireworks will cap off the night. The event is from 6pm to 10pm.
Riverside Park, Port Jervis
Starting at 5pm and ending at 10pm, this celebration will feature local food trucks and live music from Jug O’ Jack and Pistachio Bathtub. Fireworks will be set off from the peak of Point Peter while visitors eat their dinner. Tickets cost $5 and children 12 and under enter for free.
North Street, White Plains
Starting at 6:30pm at White Plains High School, this celebration has food trucks, a kid’s area, live music by the Showtime Dance Time, and fireworks.
July 3
Robert Cahill Drive, Beacon
Taking place at Memorial Park, this fireworks event is planned to start at 6:30pm. Kids activities and food vendors can be enjoyed before the fireworks begin at dusk. Parking is limited, so guests are encouraged to walk or bike to the park.
Bronx River Parkway, Valhalla
This free music fest and fireworks show starts at 5pm with a DJ and goes till 11pm. The Naked Soul Band will perform at 7pm and there will be a family-friendly zone at Clove Road Free from 6pm to 8:45pm. Fireworks will start at 9pm. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets.

Depew Avenue, Nyack
The celebration runs for two days, with fireworks at 9pm on July 3. In the leadup, families can enjoy the Kid’s Freedom Zone, with games, popcorn, and face painting, from 1pm to 5pm and the performance of the Swingtime Big Band at 7pm. After a presentation of the national anthem, fireworks will be set off over the Hudson River, viewed from Memorial Park.
July 4
Joseph Y. Resnick Airport, Napanoch
A free event held by the Wawarsing 4th of July Committee annually, this celebration of America’s 250th anniversary will start with a parade down Canal Street at noon. The celebration at the airport will feature two live bands and a DJ. Kids can check out the bouncy house, face painting, and other games while parents eat their free hot dogs and watch the skydiving celebration. Fireworks will begin at 9:30pm.
Rondout Landing, Kingston
A free concert and firework display will take place on Kingston Waterfront, starting at 6:30pm. The Breakout Kings will play on the City stage in TR Gallo Park. The fireworks, provided by O’Connor & Partners, will set off from a barge on Rondout Creek at dusk. This year’s firework display is sponsored by The Cornell, Brickmen Kitchen + Bar, and Mariner’s Harbor.
Cantine Field, Saugerties
The town of Saugerties has events celebrating America’s 250th anniversary throughout the day. There is a parade at 11am, sponsored by the Saugerties Fire Department. Kids and adults alike can learn about local history and enjoy free hot dogs at the American Legion History Museum from 3pm to 5pm. A Stallions baseball game will take place at Cantine Field at 6:15pm, concluding with a fireworks display at 10pm.
Ulster County Fairgrounds, New Paltz
Opening at 5pm, this event will feature food trucks, a beer garden, and live music. The celebrations are sponsored by O’Connor & Partners. Tickets cost $5 for adults and kids enter for free. The kids corner with puppet shows, face painting, and laser tag is sponsored by Dedrick’s Pharmacy + Gift Shop. There will be a karate demo by New Paltz Karate and a photo booth sponsored by Ulster Savings. Fireworks, provided by Santore Family, start at dusk, with live music afterwards. The concert includes Soul Purpose, Gratefully Yours, Beyond the Ridge, JP Fabella, and Paul Kwiecinski.
Walkway Over the Hudson, Highland
The world’s longest pedestrian bridge, the Walkway Over the Hudson is 212 feet above the Hudson River and provides a good view of the firework display. By 6pm the bridge will only be open to ticket holders, allowing guests to walk the bridge at dusk, and fireworks will start at 9pm.
Creamery Road, Stanfordville
The Stanford Fire Company, the Town of Stanford, and Stanford Historical Society come together to present a fireworks display starting at dusk. The event is free and can be viewed from Stanford Recreation Park and Town Hall. It is scheduled for 8pm to 9pm.

North Water Street, Poughkeepsie
The Mid Hudson Discovery Museum (MHDM) offers views of fireworks over the Hudson River, with a picnic area and reserved parking. Fireworks go from 7pm to 9pm. Tickets are sold per car, and it costs $60 for MHDM members and $70 for non-members.
Catamount Road, Hillsdale
This free event starts at 4pm, featuring food and beer vendors, with live music from Stepehn Gray and The Clams at 5pm. Fireworks will light up the sky at 9pm.
Resort Drive, Windham
The WIndham Foundation celebrates America’s birthday with a weekend of festivities. On the 4th, the day opens with a sand castle contest at 11am in CD Park. There will be an Omny Taiko Japanese Drum Concert at 2pm. Peter and the Wolves will perform from 4pm to 7pm and DJ Mike and a laser show will go from 6pm to 9pm. The independence day parade will kick off at 7pm with fireworks capping off the day over Windham Mountain Club.
Rip Van Winkle Lake Park, Tannersville
The Town of Hunter and the Village of Tannersville organize an independence day celebration, starting with a parade that lines up at 11am and steps off at 2pm along Tannersville’s Main Street. Live music, festivities, and fireworks will take place at Rip Van Winkle Lake Park. Fireworks will start at 9:30pm.
Ravine Drive, Round Top
Probable Cause will perform at Nussy’s Bier Garden at 8pm. Fireworks will follow the show. Admission and parking will be free.
Windermere Avenue, Greenwood Lake
Taking place at Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park, this celebration will include vendors and music from the band Ladies of the ’80s. The event will start at 6pm and fireworks will go off at 9:15pm.
Rings Pond, Firthcliffe
Organized by volunteers from the Cornwall Independence Day Committee, the annual Cornwall Independence Day celebration started in 1950. This year, there are festivities such as a craft fair, a pie eating contest, a parade, and more. Fireworks will begin after dark at Ring Pond.
Washington Road, West Point
Starting at 3pm at Trophy Point, the day will include performances from the West Point Band, a kid’s corner, and food truck vendors. Fireworks will be set off in the evening. This is a free event.

Resorts World Drive, Monticello
The Kartrite Resort and Indoor Waterpark is celebrating America’s 250th anniversary with a live DJ, bounce houses, games, and a BBQ buffet. The night will end with a fireworks display. The event is from 5pm to 9pm.
Playland Parkway, Rye
Playland Park’s fireworks will begin at 9pm on July 4. Playland Park, Playland Beach, and Rye Town Park provide the best views. Fireworks will continue every Friday at 9pm for the rest of the summer, ending on September 4.
Harbor Island Park, Mamaroneck
The Mamaroneck Volunteer Fire Department’s Annual Carnival will run from June 26 to July 5, with the carnival hours being 6:45pm to 11:30pm. On July 4, the carnival will be open from 4pm to midnight and fireworks will be set off at 9:15pm.
Hudson Park Road, New Rochelle
Taking place at Hudson Park & Beach, the annual Spark the Sound: July 4th Fireworks will go from 9:30pm to 10:pm. Hudson Park and Five Islands Park, and the recommended viewing locations.
Pier Street, Yonkers
The Revolutionary Yonkers 250 Committee is a group of residents who plan the events leading up to the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in July 2026. On July 4 they have arranged daylong activities ending with fireworks at the Yonkers Pier at 9pm.
Westchester Avenue, Pound Ridge
Pound Ridge’s annual fireworks celebration at Town Park will begin at 8:30pm. There will be food trucks providing food and refreshment. Parking passes are required.
Hudson Avenue, Peekskill
This celebration will start with a performance from First Class Band at 7pm, followed by fireworks at 9:30pm in Peekskill Waterfront Park.
July 5
Palatine Park Road, Germantown
Starting at 4pm, this event features local food vendors, live music, and spirits. Tickets cost $15 per car or $5 per person for walk-ins, with children under 5 entering for free. Fireworks will start at 9:30pm and the event goes until 11pm.
July 11
Hopewell Recreation Park, Hopewell Junction
East Fishkill Historical Society has organized this event to celebrate America’s history and their hometown pride. Starting at noon, there will be performances from the Young Colonials Fifie & Drum Corps, a revolutionary war cannon demonstration from the 4th NY Artillery, and drills by the 2nd NY Provincials Continental Line Regiment. Visitors can also pursue the various vendors and food trucks available. Fireworks will close out the day as the sun sets, with Adam and the Newhearts providing live music.
Barone Road, Wurtsboro
This event encourages visitors to bring their picnic blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the drone show and fireworks at Wurtsboro Airport. There will be food trucks and live music. The event starts at 6pm and the show begins at 9pm.
July 18
NY-416, Montgomery
The traditional Orange County Freedom Fest, opening at 2pm, will feature vendors and live music. There will additionally be activities for kids, a drone show, and fireworks at the end of the day. The event takes place at Thomas Bull Memorial Park.
