Chili Bowl Fiesta in Stone Ridge
The 23rd annual Chili Bowl Fiesta returns on February 29 from 2 to 6pm to offer nearly 1,000 handmade bowls and mugs created in the Womenโs Studio Workshop and available for purchaseโall of which can also be filled with homemade chili donated to the event by area chefs. The spicy soiree takes place at Vanderlyn Hall on the SUNY Ulster campus in Stone Ridge. Early bird (2 to 4pm) admission is $10; admission is free after 4pm.

Local singer-songwriter and producer Chris Maxwell is one busy half of soundtrack/production team the Elegant Too (โBobโs Burgers,โ โInside Amy Schumerโ). Out this month is New Store No. 2, Maxwellโs second solo album, which heโll celebrate with a record release show at Colony in Woodstock on February 29 at 7pm. The Shivers open. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 day of show.

Vassar Dance Performance in Poughkeepsie
Vassar Collegeโs resident company, Vassar Repertory Dance Theatre, will perform at the Bardavon Theater Poughkeepsie on February 29 at 8pm and March 1 at 3pm. The two shows, which mark the occasion of the companyโs 38th annual gala weekend, will feature 34 Vassar students performing jazz, ballet, and modern works created by faculty and students. Tickets are $12 (Vassar community, students, and seniors are $10; there is a group discount of $8 for parties of 10 or more).

Toni Morrison Documentary at SUNY Dutchess To wrap up its 2020 Black History Month Film Series, SUNY Dutchess Community College will screen Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am in Dutchess Hallโs James and Betty Hall Theater on its Poughkeepsie campus on March 2 at 5:30pm. Admission is free.

Bouillabaisse Lunch in Poughkeepsie
On February 26 at noon, the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Poughkeepsie hosts โClassic Bouillabaisseโ at its Bocuse restaurant. Part of CIAโs 2020 Culinary Series, the three-course lunch is centered around the titular seafood stew identified with the port city of Marseille and includes salads, desserts, and wines associated with the region. The prepaid, all-inclusive package is $59.
