On May 27, the annual Bob Dylan Birthday Celebration will once again return to the Bearsville Theater to benefit the Family of Woodstock Hotline and the John Herald Fund for Musicians and Artists in need.
The annual event, now in its 15th year, honors legendary, one-time Woodstock resident Dylan by featuring some of the Hudson Valleyโs top musicians performing many of his immortal songs. Scheduled to appear in the program this time are host Happy Traum and fellow local greats Cindy Cashdollar, Arlen Roth, David Mansfield, Simi Stone, Connor Kennedy, Eugene Ruffolo, Adrien Reju, Don Byron, Chris Maxwell, Robert Burke Warren, and Marc Black. Accompanying the featured performers will be the top-flight band Buffalo Stack, which is comprised of Andy Stack on guitar, Lee Falco on drums, Brandon Morrison on bass, and special guest Professor Louie on keyboards.
Taking place since 2008, the yearly concert raises funds for Family of Woodstock, which assists people in need with shelters, emergency food pantries, domestic violence services, court advocates, counseling and case management services, hotlines, and child care; and the John Herald Fund, which was established in 2006 in memory of John Heraldโa musician and longtime friend of Bob Dylanโto help needful community musicians, artists, and writers with seemingly smallโbut important and often expensiveโitems (i.e., a car repair or emergency prescription).
The Bob Dylan Birthday Celebration benefit concert for the Family of Woodstock Hotline and the John Herald Fund for Musicians and Artists will take place at the Bearsville Theater in Bearsville on May 27 at 7pm. Tickets are $20-$75 ($25-$80 day of show).
