The always-enticing Jazz at Senate Garage series, curated by singer Teri Roiger and bassist John Menegon, returns this Saturday with a performance by guitarist Ed Cherry accompanied by Menegon, saxophonist Jay Collins, and drummer Steve Williams.
Born in Connecticut, Cherry was a sideman of the legendary Dizzy Gillespie from 1978 to 1983. In addition to leading his own bands, heโs also performed with luminaries like Henry Threadgill, John Patton, Hamiet Bluiett, Paquito DโRivera, and John Faddis.
