Friends of the Walkway’s annual benefit, Starry Starry Night, is known as an evening filled with good food, good drinks, and notable Hudson Valley performers. It’s a one-of-a-kind opportunity to celebrate and support the Walkway Over the Hudson. And with everything the nonprofit is cooking up for this year, its first virtual benefit will be just as magical.ย
On Friday, October 2, the Friends of the Walkway nonprofit organization is inviting everyone to take part in its annual Starry Starry Night benefit, which you can join from anywhere you want. The highlight of the evening is the 7pm premiere of a Walkway-inspired video featuring entertainment by internationally known musicians with ties to the Hudson River Valley like Herb Alpert, Amy Helm, Happy Traum, Jay Ungar, Molly Mason, and Dar Williams, plus appearances by Mary Stuart Masterson and others.ย

To kick off your socially distanced celebration in style, you can also reserve a Party and Gift Box, which features your choice of three curated food and beverage pairings. Drink options will include a choice of wine from Millbrook Vineyards, whiskey from Tuthilltown Distillery, or craft beer from Mill House Brewing Company via Dutchess Beer Distributors.
Your choice of tipple will be accompanied by local charcuterie and cheese sourced by Main Course Catering,ย and will include griddled bruschetta, smoked almonds, kettle corn, and a desert. The Party and Gift boxes will also include other locally made artisanal products, Walkway souvenirs, and more.

Each box costs $150 with alcohol or $100 without and a portion of the purchase price is tax deductible. Party and Gift boxes are in limited supply, so the nonprofit recommends purchase in advance to secure your choice of food and drink.
Before, during, and after the eveningโs video presentation, a carefully curated online auction featuring one-of-a-kind local experiences, luxurious getaways, health and beauty products, and rounds of golf will be open to all.
โWhile we will surely miss seeing all of our friends in person under our magnificent clear-top tent at the Walkway this year, this virtual event is the next best thing to connect everyone to what they love most about Walkway Over the Hudson while respecting social distancing,โ says Executive Director Friends of the Walkway Elizabeth Waldstein.
