In celebration of Pride Month, the Rosendale Theatreโ€™s Short Play Festival will return to the townโ€™s historic cinema on June 8, 9, 10, and 11 with Love is Love: The LGBTQ+ Plays.

Directed by Artistic Director Susan Einhorn, Guy Anthony, and Sydnie Grosberg Ronga and produced by Ann Citron, the four-day festival presents all original short plays that focus on varying perspectives on LGBTQ+ issues and topicsโ€”โ€œpersonal, political, and everything in between.โ€

The plays to be performed at the festival include โ€œOppression and Pearlsโ€ by Jenny Lyn Bader, โ€œGreen with Enbyโ€ by Allison Fradkin, โ€œA Marriage is a Story We Tell and Keep Tellingโ€ by Danielle Frimer, โ€œPronounsโ€ by Cathy Gigante-Brown, โ€œFirst Dateโ€ by Matthew Heftler, โ€œ2 Boys on a Beach on a Hot Summerโ€™s Nightโ€ by James Edwin Parker, โ€œIntimacyโ€ by Brian Petti, โ€œThe Spirit is Willingโ€ by Nicole Quinn, and โ€œTraining Campโ€ by David Simpatico.

The cast includes Stephany Hitchcock, Marianne Matthews, Zelda AKA Judith Z. Miller, Ilona Molnar, Blake Pfeil, Sarah Jayne Rothkopf, Bill Solley, Griffin Stenger, Aimee Trumbore, and Jeremiah Wenutu. Along with the short plays, this yearโ€™s festival will also feature short films from โ€œQueer Youth Animated,โ€ an original series produced by the Future Perfect Project, as well as the HUDSY original โ€œAndramada.โ€ The festival is being produced with the support of the Ulster County Cultural Services and Promotion Fund as administered by Arts Mid-Hudson.

“Love is Love: The LGBTQ+ Plays” will take place at the Rosendale Theatre in Rosendale on June 8, 9, and 10 at 7:30pm and June 11 at 4pm. Tickets are $20.ย
