Best known nowadays as Wilcoโs lead guitarist, Nels Cline has been called one of the top 100 guitarists of all time by Rolling Stone. On April 2 at 8pm, heโll perform a special solo set at Colony in Woodstock as the opener for the Stardust Reunion Band.
Well into its fourth decade, Clineโs recording and performing career extends well beyond his time with Wilco to span jazz, rock, punk, and experimental music (check out his work with โ90s greats the Geraldine Fibbers). The guitar genius has appeared on well over 200 recordings.
Led by guitarist, composer, arranger, lyricist, writer, educator, and vocalist Joel Harrison, the Stardust Reunion Band was initially assembled to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Woodstock Festival. The group also includes keyboardist Bruce Katz (Gregg Allman, David Fathead Newman, Butch Trucks), drummer Aaron Johnston (David Byrne, Brazilian Girls), singer Everett Bradley (Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Hall and Oates), and guitarist David Gilmore (Wayne Shorter, Jack DeJohnette).
Tickets for the concert are $20-$25. Doors are at 6pm.
