Paul de Jong

Dutch cellist and audio collagist Paul de Jong was half of the indie/experimental pop duo the Books, until the act disbanded in 2011. Since then, de Jong has worked in visual and literary mediums and released two solo albums: 2015โ€™s IF and this yearโ€™s You Fucken Sucker. In support of the latter disc, the eccentric musician will perform at Time & Space Limited this Saturday.

Released early last month, You Fucken Sucker is already being called de Jongโ€™s most challenging work to date. The bizarre opus utilizes samples, guest vocal performances, electronics, and abrasive interludes.

Hereโ€™s a one-minute album teaser provided by de Jongโ€™s label, Temporary Residence Records:

Paul de Jong will perform at Time & Space Limited in Hudson, New York, on April 13 at 7pm. Tickets are $12.50 ($10 students and TSL members). For more information, call (518) 822-8448 or visit https://timeandspace.org/.
