RMS Titanic

Playwright Jeffrey Hatcher’s award-winning play “Scotland Road” will be presented on Bannerman’s Island for four exclusive performances from July 21 through July 24.

Directed Neil Caplan, “Scotland Road” tells the story of a beautiful young woman named Winifred, played by Fay Gerbes Pacht, who is found floating on an iceberg in the middle of the North Atlantic in the last decade of the 20th century. After being rescued, she says only one word—“Titanic”— before being taken to an isolated spot on the coast of Maine, where an expert on the sinking of the liner, a mysterious man named John, played by Ron Moorehead, has arranged to interrogate her for six days. His objective is to crack her story, get her to confess she’s a fake, and reveal her identity, and his only clues are her enigmatic references to an unknown place called Scotland Road. Like Pacht and Moorhead, all of the cast members are local Hudson Valley actors.

In addition to the boat ride to Bannerman’s Island on the Estuary Steward, ticket prices also include a tour of the island with professional tour guides before the show. The July 23 performance is reserved for a special event that will also include an 11-course dinner featuring the actual dinner menu from the Titanic’s last voyage. Live Gilded Age music will be provided by the Klettner Brothers.

“Scotland Road” will be presented on Bannerman’s Island from July 21 through July 24. Tickets are $65. See website for COVID policy and further information.
