Overview:
The New York producer and electronica musician will appear at the new Kingston cocktail bar on November 7.
We love it when new nightlife options are added to the scene here in the Hudson Valley, and Kingston got a groovy one recently with the opening of the Parlour. Located at the corner of Main and Clinton streets, the softly lit cocktail bistro provides a promising contrast to the rowdier bars in the in the Stockade District. The space, which serves food as well, has been hosting vinyl DJs and on November 7 will welcome a live performance by New York musician Synacure.
The alter ego of New York-born producer and musician Bryan Lurie, Synacure is an “electronic/organic” music project that has released several singles on Lurie’s Ziq Street label. “[The label] stands for music that builds communities, raises consciousness, and is as diverse as it is collaborative and transgressive,” explains Lurie, whose musical inspirations include African and Latin styles, funk, disco, hip hop, house, and more. The producer has worked with Abiodun Oyewole and Baba Don Babatunde of the Last Poets, and the event at the Parlour will celebrate his forthcoming release, “Suspicious.”
Synacure will perform at the Parlour in Kingston on November 7 at 6:30pm. Admission is free.
