While “420” may have originated as a secret codeword for the time of day West Coast students would meet up to consume cannabis, April 20 is now one of the most widely celebrated days for the growing community of cannabis connoisseurs. And states across the country continue to legalize everyone’s favorite plant, 420 celebrations have also become an annual chance for cannabis dispensaries to show their customers some love.
While New York dispensaries are still months away from opening, for Hudson Valley residents who want to celebrate the occasion in style, a quick ride over to the Berkshires will bring plenty of 420 events to choose from.
If you’re looking to get the most out of your trip, you won’t want to miss the “420 in the Berkshires” celebration from Pittsfield dispensary Berkshire Roots, a vertically integrated medical and adult-use cannabis dispensary and one of Massachusetts’ leading cultivators of craft-grown cannabis from Berkshire County.
The 420 party kicks off on Wednesday, April 20 with free ice cream from canna-friendly brand Ben & Jerry’s for 100 lucky guests, an appearance from fan favorite Biggins Diggins food truck, and more fun happenings that are still in the works.
Then, on Saturday, April 23, Berkshire Roots will be hosting a jam-packed day of good food, local vendors, music, games, and much more from 12-5pm.
You can also look forward to eats from the Chillin’ & Grillin’ Food Truck and more free ice cream for 100 from Ben & Jerry’s. Berkshire Pride will be on-site, as well as the one and only Boxxavine, handmade wares from Berkshire Pine, and partner pop-ups from vape brand Fernway, Berkshire Bong Company, natural scent and home care brand Kushley, and sun-grown cannabis grower Nova Farms.
Williamstown-based herbalist and energy healing practitioner Wild Soul River will also be bringing the party on-site care of their groovy vintage Volkswagen Van, where they’ll be posted up to offer tie-dyed items, tarot readings, and two herbal smoke blends tailored to pair with Berkshire Roots’ award-winning Orange Chameleon and Great White Shark flower strains.
Berkshire Roots will also be offering its own goodies and sweepstakes inside the dispensary, as well as special in-store promos that kicked off Monday, April 11 and run through the 420 event on the 23rd. And to top it all off, the dispensary will also be commemorating the day by launching several brand new products that any 420-celebrating cannabis consumer definitely won’t want to miss.
