Rebekah Milne inside Milne’s At Home Antiques

Born into a storied antiques family, Rebekah Milne waited until after she had an MBA to join the family business, opening an outpost 100 miles north of her parents, Jim and Judy Milne, in Kingston’s Rondout in 2012.

Milne’s at Home Antiques, the 6,000-square-foot atelier Milne set up with her husband Seamus McCance is a fantasia of antiques, mid-century modern furniture, and exquisitely curated design. I spoke with Rebekah Milne recently about how the antiques business works, how it’s changing, and how young people’s tastes combine a reverence for the past with a desire for a fresh take on design.
