Another month, another big indie score for BSP Lounge. This time itโ€™s in the form of CoCoRosie, who will make their first area appearance in the venueโ€™s seldom-utilized Back Room Theater this Saturday.

Formed in Paris in 2003 by singing sisters Bianca (โ€œCoCoโ€; percussion) and Sierra (โ€œRosieโ€; guitar, harp) Casady, the highly visual group rose to prominence alongside Devendra Banhart and other purveyors of the so-called freak folk/new weird Americana wave of the early 2000s. In addition to folk and psychedelia, CoCoRosieโ€™s music takes in pop, electronica, hip-hop, opera, and ethnic music elements. Their sixth album, Heartache City, was released on City Slang Records this month.

Hereโ€™s CoCoRosie performing in Barcelona last July:

CocoRosie will perform at BSP Loungeโ€™s Back Room Theater in Kingston, New York, on September 26 at 8pm. Mary Ocher will open. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 day of show. For more information, call (845) 481-5158 or visit http://bspkingston.com/.
