Along with being Andrew Birdโ€™s main musical collaborator for the last few years, Minneapolis multi-instrumentalist and composer Martin Dosh has also worked with Bonnie Prince Billy, Wilcoโ€™s Glenn Kotche, and Bon Iver, who has called Dosh โ€œa national treasure.โ€ But besides all that, Dosh, who plays at BSP Lounge next Tuesday, has his own ongoing solo recording and touring projectโ€”called DOSH, of courseโ€”which has thus far produced six albums of his oddball, loop-based solo performances.

Elder scenesters may recall Dosh from his 1990s years of studying music and literature at Simonโ€™s Rock in Western Massachusetts and, later, at SUNY New Paltz. Back then, he was a strong presence on the local music scene, drumming with the band Como Zoo and establishing himself as an adventurous improviser at jam sessions and open mikes.

Check out a bit of DOSH weaving sounds in this 2012 radio session:

DOSH will perform with the Sweet Clementines and the Fasads at BSP Lounge in Kingston on December 3 at 8pm. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 day of show. For details, call (845) 481-5158 or visit http://bspkingston.com/.
