Living Colour were unchallenged radio champs in the late 1980s. After climbing the college charts with their platinum debut, Vivid, and taking over MTV with their storming single “Cult of Personality,” the hard rock/funk quartet went on to tour with the Rolling Stones (Mick Jagger had been an early booster of the band). The pressure of their rocket rise presaged a messy demise in 1995, but by 2001, the foursome, fronted by current Newburgh resident Corey Glover, were back together for touring and recording. And on September 8, the Grammy-winning group drops its first album in eight years, Shade.
In addition to singing with Living Colour, Glover is also an actor (Platoon) and a solo performer who’s headlined at the Falcon in Marlboro, the Newburgh Illuminated festival, and other venues.
Shade is out now on Megaforce Records. For more information, visit http://www.livingcolour.com/.
