Calling all altrockers and grunge fansโ€”PledgeMusic has some news that may perk up your ears. Woodstock resident Tracy Bonhamโ€™s hit debut album The Burdens of Being Upright has gotten an update.

Modern Burdens contains re-recorded and re-imagined versions of The Burdens of Being Upright songs as well as some fresh originals, recorded with Late Cambrianโ€™s John Wlaysewski and Blue Man Group drummer Todd Perlmutter, among other special guests.

Bonhamโ€™s original album included โ€œNavy Bean,โ€ โ€œKisses,โ€ โ€œBrain Crack,โ€ and the Billboard chart topper โ€œMother Mother.โ€ Check out the video from โ€˜96 below:

Much has changed in the twenty years that Bonhamโ€™s Grammy-nominated album was releasedโ€”Bonham has become a mother, and Ross Perot-style election suprise has morphed into the Donald Trump election season tumult. In 2016, โ€œMother Motherโ€ gets a lyrical revamping, addressing the current Trumpian political climate.

Humor is also a part of the release. Celebrity guest collaborations are scattered throughout this project, including “Saturday Night Live” and “Portlandia” actor Fred Armisen. He appears alongside Tracy in the comedic PledgeMusic exclusive video โ€œThe Audition.โ€

Pledgers that pre-order will receive an early release digital download, behind-the-scenes view into Bonhamโ€™s recording process, and limited edition merchandise. If you want a vintage โ€˜90s Burdens of Being Upright poster, an out-of-print vinyl signed by Bonham, a handwritten and signed lyric sheet of your favorite jam, a shadowbox with the lyrics to โ€œMother Mother,โ€ or the chance to have the artist herself review your work, this pre-order is prime.
