Darylโs House is an intimate bar, restaurant, and live music venue in Pawling. Itโs largely the vision and creation of legendary musician Daryl Hall, of Hall & Oates, and his television series โLive from Darylโs House.โ Upcoming acts in spring 2018: Quinn Sullivan, Brand X, Yardbirds, Graham Parker, and Badfinger.
Upstairs, The Falcon in Marlboro is a 3,500-square-foot music space and art gallery. Downstairs, it becomes The Falcon Underground, sporting a New York taproom, beer garden, and a rock โnโ roll museum: The Avalon Archives Museum of Roots, Rock & Roll. The happening lower level hosts weekly songwriter, roots and blues, jazz, and spoken word/hip-hop sessions. Upcoming acts on the main level: Chris OโLeary Band, Jerome Jennings Group, and Mokoomba.
Maverick Concerts hosts the longest running, summer-long chamber music festival in the countryโ102 years and counting. From June through September, visit Maverick Concert Hall in Woodstock to enjoy jazz and classical chamber performances. There is both indoor and outdoor seating in the spectacular, wooded, open-spaced facility. Long, wooden benches and the surrounding nature make for a communal concert-going experience and a glimpse of musical history.
Shakespeare in a tent? Thatโs right: Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival (HVSF) brings their tragic theatrics to Garrison every summer. This year, the festival runs from June 7 to September 3. Performances of โRip Van Winkle,โ โThe Sea-Maidโs Music,โ โThe Heart of Robin Hood,โ โThe Taming of the Shrew,โ and โRichard IIโ will all take place at the HVSF tent at Boscobel House and Gardens. On select dates in July and August, โHamletโ and โThe Sea-Maidโs Musicโ will travel to other locations across the Hudson Valley, including Hudson River Museum, Turnure Park, and Ridgefield Playhouse.
Finally, exciting summer evenings cheering on racing cars are on the horizon. Attend dirt track races at Accord Speedway every Friday at 7:30pm this season. The venue will also host special events, including Salute to the Veterans Night on May 25, Fireworks Extravaganza on June 29, and Battle of the Bullring on July 3.
