The Orchestra Now

Bard College President and founder and music director of The Orchestra Now, Leon Botstein, will lead the orchestra at its acoustically glorious home venue for this program of music that spans over 200 years. The concert will feature classic works by Ulysses Kay, John Cage, Igor Stravinsky, C. P. E. Bach, and Albert Roussel. Alentine’s Day

This month, area singer-songwriter Al Olender will once again bring her annual antidote-to-Valentine’s Day extravaganza to the Stockade District. This year’s theme for the event is “Al Olender presents: An ExtraterrestriAL Alentine’s Day” and draws from the topics explored on her recent sophomore album, The Worrier. Olender’s backing band for the show includes James Felice (Felice Brothers), Nick Kinsey (Kevin Morby, Scott McMicken), David Lizmi (John Legend), Aubrey Haddard (Benny Sings, Psymone Spine), and Amanda Brooklyn at the Old Dutch Church. 7:30pm. $25-$35.
“Ecstatic Heart”

Billed as a “Sufi and kabbalistic mystical music celebration,” this transcendental event offers performances by the Yuval Ron Ensemble featuring Sufi Qwali master musician Sukhawat Ali Khan and traditional whirling movement by dancer Leen Abaza. Attendees are invited to join in with clapping, dancing, and experiencing the sacred movement sama prayer at MaMa. 7:30pm. $40.
Margo Price
February 26 at the Bearsville Theater
Debuting on Third Man Records with 2016’s Midwest Farmer’s Daughter, Margo Price has saved country music. Snatching the genre back from the block-headed depths of bro country, the soulful Nashville singer-songwriter and producer has since waxed four more acclaimed albums—the latest being 2025’s Hard Headed Woman—shared stages with Patti Smith and Iggy Pop, and launched a weed line with Willie Nelson. Heavenly Echoes Gospel Band

Founded in 1965 in Albany by the late Deacon James Edmonds, the Heavenly Echoes Gospel Band is rooted in deep gospel and authentic Southern soul of the classic 1960s Stax/Volt Records era. The group’s repertoire mixes originals, traditional hymns and spirituals, crossover covers, and contemporary renditions of gospel standards from the church community. (The Lisha Defino Jazz Trio plays the Revels celebration February 14 in Spencertown.) 7:30pm. $27.
Cat Power
March 3 at UPAC in Kingston
Here, Chan Marshall AKA Cat Power follows up her triumphant 2025 appearance at the Ulster Performing Arts Center, when she paid tribute to Bob Dylan. For this return she’ll be celebrating the 20th anniversary of her 2006 landmark breakthrough album The Greatest, performing the record in its entirety; concurrent with the commemoration, she just released Redux, a three-song EP (digital and 10-inch vinyl) that includes unheard versions of her “Could We” and songs by Prince and James Brown.
