The popular New Zealand indie band will play the venue on September 24.
Basilica Hudson’s autumn season will arrive in fine style when cherished indie rockers the Beths take the stage on September 24.
As a band, the Beths began in their native Auckland, New Zealand, in 2014, when two high school friends, lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist Elizabeth Stokes and guitarist Jonathan Pearce, met bassist Benjamin Sinclair and drummer Ivan Luketina-Johnston (later replaced by Tristan Deck) at college. After some singles and an EP, the band made its full-length debut with 2018’s Future Me Hates Me, which was issued in America on Carpark Records.
With their harmony-rich pop sound, the group began building an enraptured international following from there, touring the UK and Europe with Death Cab for Cutie and releasing the albums Jump Rope Gazers (2020) and Expert in a Dying Field (2022). One fan they made along the way was former president Barrack Obama, who included the latter disc’s “Watching the Credits” on his summer 2023 playlist. The Beths’ latest album is Straight Line is a Lie, which appeared on Anti- Records in 2025.
The Beths will perform at Basilica Hudson in Hudson on September 24 at 7pm. Tickets are $37.50.
