The month gets off to a rocky start with Mars in Cancer in a tense relationship to Saturn in Aries on September 1. Both planets are in signs they are deeply uncomfortable with. This is not a week to force something that won’t budge, or avoid harsh realities. “Eat the frog,” as they say—perform the task that you’ve been avoiding, and you just might be rewarded. September 10 is a day of movement and fresh starts. On this day Venus enters Scorpio, Mercury enters Libra, and a new moon perfects in Virgo. The palpable shift in energy guides our attention to relationships and communication. Specifically, our tastes might turn toward darker, deeper subject matter and thornier feelings. We may even derive pleasure from life’s more complicated emotions or taboo situations. The influence of Mercury in Libra suggests that we may try to be more rational and fair in our negotiations with others, but the Scorpionic thirst for Venusian extremes might win out. Set an intention to prioritize discernment on the new moon.
On September 22 the sun enters Libra and we welcome the autumnal equinox. Day and night even out and the sun will do its level best to shine its light on equality. However, multiple configurations to Pluto (planet of absolutes) will throw shade on the sun’s efforts to shine. A full moon in Aries conjoins Neptune on September 26. Beware delusions of grandeur, hero worship, and god-complexes. Mars’ entrance into Leo on September 27 unfortunately eggs on our sense of invincibility and grandstanding. By all means, go big, but remember that you’re only human. Finally, Mercury enters Scorpio on September 30. We grow tired of playing nice and maintaining equilibrium in our personal dealings. Our desire for intimacy, possession, and back-alley deals grows. Our dark side finds its voice.
