Blackcreek Mercantile & Trading Co., a small-scale manufacturing and product design company, has opened a new showroom in the heart of Kingston. The showroom will display BCMT’s carefully crafted tabletops, accessories, and furniture.

The showroom gives BCMT the chance to evolve its current studio’s open door policy, by welcoming visitors and maintaining a place for the artist to display their work. The hope is for the new space to create more of a retail experience for customers, something new for BCMT.

“Until now, our business model has mostly been wholesale – so this is exciting, uncharted territory for us, I can feel the options opening up,” says Josh Vogel, founder of BCMT. Like the studio, the showroom will be located in the midtown area of Kingston. “The space has wonderful windows and great natural light, it also happens to be in just about the geographic center of Kingston. The idea is to create an environment right here on Broadway in which to display the work,” Vogel continues.

In addition to BCMT’s tabletops, spoons, cutting boards, oils and doorstoppers the store features ceramics for sale made by new Hudson Valley resident Kathy Erteman. Organic products from Los Poblanos Lavender Farm in New Mexico are carried as well.
