Sponsored by fan-to-artist platform Tipify, the evening will feature several rising indie performers.
On August 23 the direct fans-to-artists digital support platform Tipify is bringing its B-Side Sessions to the Bearsville Theater with a lineup spanning acclaimed, rising independent singer-songwriters voices Welsh Wolf, Amber Rubarth, Dave Doobinin, Keenan O’Meara, Gracie Coates, Rose Stoller, Johnny Irion, and Kait Hickey.
Rather than purchasing a traditional ticket, B-Side Sessions attendees support the artists directly by scanning a QR code and tipping the performers. “Your tip is your ticket,” reads the event’s mantra. According to their organizers, the sessions are intended to reflect Tipify’s overarching mission of empowering fans to directly support participating artists, who receive 90 percent of each tip (the platform takes 10 percent). Tipify was launched in 2025 by Dan Caruci, a physician and molecular biologist who has worked for decades in global public health.
“I am not a musician, I cannot play an instrument, but I have always loved music and discovered a simple truth that bothered me,” Caruci told VoyageLA about the platform, which works through Spotify. “When you and I pay for a streaming subscription, not one dollar goes to the artists we listen to the most. The people creating the music that fills our days receive almost nothing from the model that dominates the industry. That never sat right with me.” The B-Side Sessions in Bearsville come to the venue after successful rollouts in Nashville and at Austin’s SXSW festival.
The B-Side Sessions featuring Welsh Wolf, Amber Rubarth, Dave Doobinin, Keenan O’Meara, Gracie Coates, Rose Stoller, Johnny Irion, and Kait Hickey will take place at the Bearsville Theater in Bearsville on August 23 at 7pm.
