Overview:

The January 18 event will feature The Snorts and four other bands.

Established in 1975, the Adoptive and Foster Family Coalition of New York is recognized as the state’s first and only federation of adoptive, foster, and kinship families. To assist with the sustaining of the charitable organization, area music promotions outfit DCxPC Live will present a benefit featuring five raucous bands at storied local punk venue Snapper Magee’s on January 18.

High up on the bill for the event are New Jersey trio the Fiendz, who’ve been at it since 1986. The band’s melodic pop punk sound is rooted in the classic, crunchy-bubblegum sound of the Ramones, for whom they opened early on; they’ve also done shows with Marky Ramone’s band. Likewise inspirational for the group were fellow New Jerseyans the Misfits, for whose fan club (the Misfits Fiend Club) they’re named. Also appearing at the January 18 benefit are None Shall Sleep (also from New Jersey), New York act Carlos the Chords and Marly, and Hudson Valley bands King in Yellow and The Snorts.

The Adoptive and Foster Family Coalition’s stated mission is “to share information about adoption, fostering, and kinship with families, professionals, and the larger community; support families—once the kids are in their homes—with the skills and community they need to create and maintain loving, stable, strong relationships; and to achieve systemic change through our collective policy and legislative advocacy.” Central to the coalition’s work is its commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB).

DCxPC Live will present a benefit for the Adoptive and Foster Family Coalition of New York at Snapper Magee’s in Kingston on January 18 at 4pm. A donation of $5 to $10 is requested. For more information, visit the DCxPC website.
