Yes, this is ostensibly about an art show. But, and pay attention now, here is the crucial bit—this art show will allow you free admittance to the Mohonk Mountain House building and grounds, which normally will run you $20/person. So, even if you're not a committed art lover, you may want to check this show out and then catch Mohonk's afternoon tea and stroll the grounds.

The show, "Art Foray," brings 43 local artists to Mohonk's magnificent Parlor Room on Tuesday, December 10, from 2 to 8pm. Hundreds of works of art will be on sale, including works by Chronogram favorite Michael X. Rose, Kaete Brittin Shaw, Nancy Ostrovsky, John Fischer, and Sam Scoggins.

"Art Foray" is a traveling art show between the Mohonk Mountain House and Wired Gallery in High Falls, where it opened over Thanksgiving weekend. From 5 to 6pm, an hour-long symposium will held dedicated to the life and work of Hudson Valley artist Robert Draffen (1932-2010). Visit Wired Gallery for more information. Just don't forget to mention that you're coming for the art show at the gatehouse!
