Bruce Molsky is without question one of the leading practitioners of old-time music, a dazzling fiddle and banjo master who learned straight from North Carolinaโs legendary Tommy Jarrell. On April 21, Molsky brings some authentic Appalachian and Blue Ridge Mountain sounds to the Berkshires for an evening at Dewey Hall.
A member of the faculty at Bostonโs Berkelee College of Music, Molsky (a Beacon resident) has performed with bluegrass/klezmer king Andy Statman and recorded 10 albums, several of them on the seminal folk label Rounder Records.
