Inspired by the One Billion Rising against domestic violence campaign, Shelter is a benefit for local women, which includes a panel discussion with politicians and advocates. Takes place Friday.

Known for Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey’s original score, the musical’s characters face grief, mental illness, and the weight of modern suburbia. Friday through Sunday.

County Players continues its 56th season with “The Miracle Worker,” telling the story of a young Helen Keller based on her autobiography. Christine Crawfis directs the tale in Wappingers Falls, capturing Keller’s astonishing transition from mute, deaf, and blind to author, lecturer, and activist. This Friday and Saturday.
The jazz legend, father of fellow guitarist and radio personality John Pizarelli, has collaborated with iconic musicians like Les Paul and Benny Goodman. The evening of music by Pizzarelli, guitarist/vocalist Ed Laub, and a wine reception featuring Pizarelli’s paintings takes place at Safe Harbors of the Hudson Ritz Theater this Saturday.
Join vocalist heartthrob Spencer Day after Valentine’s as he performs original music and romantic favorites at Stageworks Hudson on Saturday. His jazzy pop style is often compared to Harry Connick Jr. and Michael Bublé. Day’s most recent album, Mystery of You, is his homage to early ‘60s music with a modern feel.

The Crossroads Project in Hudson

The Hudson Opera House becomes home to the Crossroads Project, featuring the Fry Street Quartet, commentary by physicist Dr. Robert Davies, and visual art by Rebecca Allan, Garth Lenz, and Lyman Whitaker. Widowspeak, comprised of vocalist Molly Hamilton and guitarist Robert Earl Thomas, is an indie rock band from Brooklyn whose single “Harsh Realm” was featured on “American Horror Story.” Hamilton’s dreamy, nostalgic sound will blend with Thomas’s ‘70s inspired guitar riffs at BSP Kingston on Saturday.
