With their exquisite blend of Spanish flamenco, Arabic folk, Cuban rhythms, and French Manouche gypsy jazz, Toronto’s Sultans of String have amassed a clothesline of honors that includes a SiriusXM Indies Award and several nominations for Canada’s JUNO Award. This Sunday, the outfit follows its “Sable Island-meets-Silk Road” path to the Hudson Valley for a show at the Falcon
The Sultans are led violinist Chris McKhool, who grew up in a musical Lebanese-Egyptian household and received a 2009 Canadian Folk Music Award for his children’s album Fiddlefire! (MapleMusic Records).
