Have a seat and take a stand! Join the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater and co-hosts Chef Terrance Brennan and CIA Senior Director Chef Waldy Malouf for Chefs For Clearwater, at the Culinary Institute of America. The event takes place at the CIA on October 14 from 4 to 8pm. Chef Brennan is working with 5 local chefs to produce a five-course meal prepared with local, seasonal ingredients.

“For a chef, it’s all about the ingredients, and for those ingredients, it’s all about the soil,โ€ chef Brennan says. โ€œThe chef can be an activist of sorts, but it comes down to taste as most important, and then for me, taking care of the people who provide our food by supporting them, buying their cover crops, and using their bruised tomatoes.โ€ย

The event will support Clearwater’s mission of protecting and restoring the Hudson River, its tributaries, and watershed. With modern pollution challenges, the health of the water is largely determined by the health of the land. More than five million people call the Hudson River watershed home, and guests at the Chefs for Clearwater event will be helping to preserve the natural bounty of our region for all of themโ€”now and for generations to come. Our featured chefs, restaurateurs, farmers, ranchers, vintners, brewers, and cider makers have been invited to participate because of their demonstrated commitment to practicing and advancing sustainable agriculture and socially responsible business practices.
