Prana is a Sanskrit word meaning breath, vital energy, life force. It is the perfect name for a group who uses only their breath to make sound to relax the body, still the mind and open the heart. Prana is an 11 voice choir that sings mediative compositions by overtone singer Baird Hersey. The pieces are a blend of traditional western vocal music with the music of India, Tibet, Tuva, Bulgaria and Georgia and have a strong emphasis on vocal harmonics. Prana has been performing nationally since 2000.
