Shape Note Singing Workshop With Tim Eriksen

Tim Eriksen, Sacred Harp singing master and punk-folk pioneer who has shared a stage with Kurt Cobain and Doc Watson, will lead a workshop in traditional American Shape Note singing in four-part harmony taken from the iconic Sacred Harp Tunebook. Shape Note singing is one of America’s earliest and most vibrant roots music forms. He will also provide historical and cultural context. Participants will be invited to sing with Eriksen during his evening concert at 7:30 pm. Workshop and Concert Tickets are $25 each. Purchase both for $4o. ​Advance registration for the workshop is required. HS Students are free.
