Located on Ulster Avenue, Saugerties Yoga will celebrate its grand reopening with a Summer Solstice Celebration on June 22. A yoga practitioner for over 25 years and a teacher for 10, new owner Sarah Wilkinson incorporates her personal philosophy in the studioโs updated message and brand.
โYoga is an opportunity to tune into the body and out of the overactive mind, enabling one to be fully present in the pose and in the breath,โ she says, adding that yoga allows for โa balanced union of body, mind, and breath, something we all struggle to find within the busyness of everyday life.โ
Wilkinson has steadily made improvements around the studio, from putting in new floors to polling students to design programming that meets the local demand, in anticipation of the reopening.

The Summer Solstice celebration will include free yoga classes every hour on the hour from 12-5pm, offering previous and prospective students the chance to experiment with different styles and teachers while immersing themselves in a supportive yoga community. The studioโs deals and discounts for June are another highlight of the event, with the 10-class pack priced at $100, offering savings of $30, and the monthly unlimited pass at $75 rather than $100. If youโre already a member or frequent participant at the studio, auto-renewal is only $65. Wilkinson aims to make people feel welcome and provide quality yoga practice that is affordable for and accessible to everyone.
Practitioners can refocus and rejuvenate with some of the many heated and non-heated classes, which are capped at 20 people and accommodate students of all levels. A few options include: Vinyasa flow, prenatal yoga, hot power yoga, beginnerโs yoga, core yoga, and hot HIIT Yogalates.ย ย After the reopening, class options will evolve based on what students request via survey and the schedule will shift throughout the summer.
One of Saugerties Yoga’s less common offerings is the Yoga for 12-Step Recovery program designed by Nicki Meyer, which Wilkinson says, โprompts deep sharing and processing and then fosters the physical release through yoga of what weโre working through mentally in the initial sharing.โ
Wilkinson also speaks highly of the hot yoga classes (only $20 for seven intro classes), emphasizing the feeling of camaraderie among students and โcatharsis after hard work and a lot of sweat results in triumph.โ Ultimately, she says, โYoga is all about one thing: your journey and your practice,โand the newly opened Saugerties Yoga hopes to enhance that experience and deepen meaning for all their students.
Saugerties Yoga is located at 141 Ulster Ave, Saugerties, NY 12477. Classes are held daily from 7am-8:30pm on weekdays and 7am-1pm on weekends. The Saugerties Yoga Summer Solstice and Grand Reopening party will be held on June 22, 12-5pm.
