MUSIC One Eleven Heavy Jams in Kingston
The sound of One Eleven Heavy is, well, heavily indebted to that of the Grateful Dead and other late ’60s/early ’70s music. The jam-centric band was formed when indie stalwarts James Toth (Wooden Wand) and Nick Mitchell Maiato (Desmadrados Soldados De Ventura) met and bonded over a shared love of the Dead, Little Feat, and Neil Young. The group features the playing of sometime members of Royal Trux, Solar Motel, Hiss Golden Messenger, the Golden Grass, and Steve Gunn’s band, and will play Tubby’s in Kingston with local psych rockers It’s Not Night: It’s Space on September 2 at 8pm. https://www.tubbyskingston.com/
