Woodstock Film Festival Successfully Pivots to Forge Ahead in the Pandemic

No movie theaters and no crowds is a scary prospect for an indie film festival, whose entire premise is based on bringing large groups of people together to watch quality film in close quarters. But they say “necessity is the mother of invention,” and the pandemic forced Woodstock Film Festival cofounder Meira Blaustein and her team to think outside the box—leading to a mixed format, part livestream from home, part drive-in festival, whose successful new components will broaden the scope of future festivals to come.
