Mary MacGill is pleased to present an exhibition of Emma Larsson’s watercolors and graphite drawings.
Larsson’s work can be seen as a continual exploration of play, delving into poetic compositions that loosely reference the natural world and undefined histories.
Larsson’s mastery of watercolor – the understanding of bleeds, edges, layering, and preservation of white space – is on full display. While color intrigues us first, like a rare bird, or flower, Larsson’s graphite work emerges as a foil playing to a more meditative tendency. At each turn, we find ourselves rapt in the rhythms of her dreamt up world.
