Saratoga Jazz Festival at SPAC June 23-24 | Branded Content | Dance | Hudson Valley | Chronogram Magazine

Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) is stacking its summer line-up with acclaimed performers from all types of artistic and cultural backgrounds. Beneath the stars, at the state-of-the art amphitheatre you can see world-class ballets, operas, and orchestral performances.

At the end of June, SPAC will host the 41st Annual Freihofer’s Saratoga Jazz Festival. Nearly two dozen international jazz talents will perform throughout the two-day event, slated for June 23-24. As one of the longest consecutive-running jazz festivals in the country, and one of the largest, the passion for this American-bred genre runs deep. This year, the festival welcomes performers onto its new Charles R. Wood “Jazz Discovery” Stage. Performances at this more intimate venue begin at 11am each day. Music continues at the main amphitheatre stage later on in the day.

The festival lineup includes Grammy-Award winners Mavis Staples, Chris Botti, Herbie Hancock, Terri Lyne Carrington, Esperanza Spalding, Nicholas Payton, and Jon Batiste with The Dap-Kings. In addition to live music from jazz greats, the festival will offer a fine arts and crafts fair, album signings by artists, a southern-style barbecue, and other food vendors. For the first time, the festival will kick off Friday, June 22 with “Freihofer's Jazz Fest Friday,” which will feature local musicians playing at various locations around Saratoga Springs.

The 41st Annual Freihofer’s Saratoga Jazz Festival returns to SPAC on June 23 and 24. Guests are welcome to bring in their own food and beverages, as well

as blankets, tents, and lawn umbrellas. Parking for the event is free, and the festival is $20. Visit the SPAC website for more information on ticketing or to see the full line up.
