Last week Hudson Valley Body Works invited me to have a 30-minute aromatherapy massage in their warm and fuzzy uptown Kingston office. Michelle Renar, LMT has been a licensed massage therapist in the uptown Kingston area for 10 years now, and has developed a loyal clientele over the years. The office is on the 2nd floor of 291 Wall Street, so you may not know about it, but Hudson Valley Good Stuff is here to tell you that the aromatherapy massage is really wonderful!

After filling out a little paperwork, Renar asked me which kind of scents I was drawn to, and if there was anything in particular that I needed work on. I told her that I felt fine, but my shoulders and arms were still a little sore from ziplining at Big Bear Ziplines the previous day. For aromatherapy treatment, she suggested a scent called Meditation, and a lemongrass scent as well. The massage itself was great! Renar said I should tell her if the pressure wasn’t right, but in general she doesn’t talk during massage so I can just relax.

Of course, I could have probably fallen asleep on the table and took a 2 hour nap, but 30-minutes is enough for me to relieve a little stress and feel rejuvenated for the rest of the day. For many years Renar had a solo practice, but last year she was very happy to welcome Ashley Rockermann, LMT to her practice. It’s a nice spot in uptown Kingston if you want to treat yourself to a massage. Hudson Valley Body Works offers therapeutic massage, deep tissue massage, hot stone massage, aromatherapy massage, pre-natal massage, and spinal decompression therapy. For a real mini-vacation try The Rejuvenator which includes a warm herbal foot soak, a full body hot stone massage using essential oils for ultimate detoxifying and relaxation.
